Cedar Riverside Adult Education Collaborative (CRAEC) is the collaboration of the Riverside Plaza Tenants Association (RPTA), the Brian Coyle Community Center, and Minneapolis Public Schools Adult Basic Education.

The Riverside Plaza Tenants’ Association (RPTA)

RPTA is a partial owner of the housing project and provides residents with a variety of services and support, including: hiring advocates to help tenants with translation, administering the English Language Learning and computer literacy programs, and providing classrooms and some financial support. The executive director of RPTA, along with other RPTA staff, work closely with CRAEC to coordinate our fiscal planning, resource center use, staffing, and shared space.

The Brian Coyle Community Center

The Brian Coyle Community Center provides classroom space, access to their food shelf, employment counseling, job training classes and other social support services. Over the years of collaboration between our two organizations, the directors and staff at Brian Coyle have consistently welcomed and helped our students, teachers, and volunteers. The space they offer to our morning programs has allowed us to more fully serve our learners' needs.

Minneapolis Public Schools Adult Basic Education

Minneapolis ABE coordinates state funds and provides administrative support. CRAEC is part of the Minneapolis Adult Education Consortium which is, "a coalition of organizations dedicated to providing effective and accessible programming for adults needing life and work literacy skills." Minneapolis ABE meets regularly with the coordinators and directors from each of the consortium members to collaborate and ensure that the needs of learners are being met in accordance with the latest initiatives, policies, and standards.
